Miguel Alejandro Machado (Havana, Cuba, 1990) is a painter in the broadest sense of the term. His obsessions in this sense have led him to retrace, with an antiquarian thoroughness, substantial set of movements and pictorial styles, of artists and works. We do not know where he intends to go with his searches, but he is always finding something. The results of his temporal and stylistic trips are connected in his mind like truncated stories, there –in the space of his mind– they confuse and mixt themselves in a clear inbreeding action. His work, like his entire imagination, ends up being a hybrid space, site of confluences and internal struggles.
Graduated from Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in 2014, Miguel Alejandro has been developing a career in promotion that already has several personal exhibitions. Among them stand out It’s Just a Trick and Un Don Juan. He has also participated in numerous collective projects, several of them collaterals to the Havana Biennial.
