Chourouk Hriech: French artist of Moroccan origin.
Racines et Pierres I, 2015.
About:
Chourouk Hriech draws in black and white. On paper, on walls, on a page or room scale; her drawings structure, intertwine, collide urban patterns. It looks like the city comes off its hinges, explodes, recomposes as in a kaleidoscope. It looks like a new dynamic grabs it, metamorphoses it, projects it in space. As if the new comes to light in old, in dynamited images of the present. The ongoing world of Chourouk Hriech restores the charivari of the tram’s construction. But it first reflects her desire for resistance and utopia.” Christian Bernard
