About:

The site specific works, performances and installations of Humberto Díaz (1975, Cuba) range from micro interventions of imperceptibly subtle changes to spacious transformations that have spectacular impact. He looks to focus new meanings by constructing poetic images that start from contexts and/or specific situations. His works are also characterized by the inquiry into the relationship of people with objects and the contexts in which they are situated. The reflection (both literal and literary), disjunction, interactivity, physical and psychological perception and interaction with the public, are key elements to understanding his work.

That night I don’t remember, 2014.

His work turns the everyday familiar to the strange. He establishes a constant exercise of looking into a mirror that changes or distorts reality, working in the interstices between the “real” and the “simulated”. For him, art is a point of view, and the object is not the end, but rather the mental, visual or sensory illusion that it causes.(website Art Tempo Cuba)
