Keith Jackson (b. 1966, Essex, Missouri)
About:
He lives and works in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Working as a general contractor for most of his life, it’s in the last few years that Jackson began self-identifying as an artist and devoting his full time to his painting practice. In that time, Jackson completed the renowned Skowhegan Residency (summer 2022), had a solo exhibition at Steven Zevitas in Boston, MA (fall 2021), and participated in a group exhibition at Harper’s Los Angeles (spring 2022). Working in brightly-hued oil paint applied either on canvas or linen, Jackson’s figurative paintings capture the simultaneously profound yet every-day memories of his childhood growing up in Essex in the 1970s.
