About:
Nyaba Léon Ouedraogo was born in 1978. He has worked for Sipa Press and the magazine Jeune Afrique, and was a co-founder of the Topics Visual Arts Platform collective. Since 2003 he has been focusing on living and working conditions in Africa, with an emphasis on people’s physical strength and the hardship involved in earning their daily bread. He is also intent on increasing public awareness of health and environment issues. A blend of photojournalism and documentary, his approach consists in “showing images not for what they relate, but for what they express.” He was nominated for the Prix Pictet in 2010.
