About:

Ola-Dele Kuku was born in 1963, in Lagos, Nigeria. He studied architecture at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI – Arc), in Los Angeles, Ca, USA, and SCI-Arc (European Programme) in Vico Mocorte, Ticino, Switzerland. His private practise (Ola-Dele Kuku Projects), initiated in Milan, Italy in 1991, and focused primarily on conceptual interventions in architecture with special interest in the philosophy, theory, and composition.

He has since then worked on several award winning projects over the years which include built objects, drawings and installations. His installation project titled ‘Diminishes Capacity’ was presented at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, Venice Biennale for the first Nigerian Pavilion at the event in 2016 – one of the ‘Must See’ exhibitions of the event. Various works from his projects have been published extensively, and are in prominent private collections, public institutions and foundations.

The architect – artist is continuously working on his ’Cultural Mapping Project’ (2002 – present), which is an ‘Education Development Programme’ focusing on the establishment of ‘Post Conflict Rehabilitation Programme’ as an academic course of study in architecture school and art academies. His has written and lectured on various theoretic proposals (in Design Application and Applied Architecture), for Conflict Prevention and Post Conflict Rehabilitation in developing countries and conflict zones.
