After graduating from the École Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques et d’Architecture Intérieure (ESAG/ Penninghen) in Paris, Vincent Michéa immigrated to Dakar in 1986 to exercise his talents as a graphic designer. In 1987, he had his first exhibition at the National Gallery of Senegal in Dakar. From this exhibition onwards to 1991, he worked as an assistant to Roman Cieslewicz; greatly inspired by the renowned graphic designer, Michéa threw himself into his painting profusely.

Michéa co-founded the label 100% Dakar and also collaborated with DKR Studios during the 1990s. Since 2008, along with the painter Moulay Youssef Elkahfai, Michéa has been teaching silkscreen printing at the École Supérieure des Arts Visuels (ESAV) in Marrakech, Morocco. Michéa’s works have been included in Pangaea: New Art from Africa and Latin America at the Saatchi Gallery in London, the UK in 2014, and the itinerant Making Africa: A Continent of Contemporary Design (exhibited across 2015–2016 at Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein in Germany in 2015; Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Spain; and Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) in Spain).
