About:
METSOKO was born in 1965 in Togo, where he lived until the age of 19. The young
METSOKO was encouraged by his mother Helena Kpodzro, who made him draw pictures based on religious iconography. New opportunities opened to the budding artist who, after a stay in London, moved to Paris in 1985.

He gives a lot of energy to his work and synthesizes in his designs focusing on such topics as nature, slavery, mother-earth, woman, Icarus, violence against women and kids etc. … with strength, vitality and commitment. In 2005 METSOKO won first prize in moulding at the First International Biennial of Contemporary sculpture in Nolay (Burgundy).
