Aya N’Da est une artiste peintre née en 1971, franco-ivoirienne, autodidacte, basée en Guadeloupe depuis 12 ans. Elle a fréquenté pendant 5 ans l’atelier d’un peintre et professeur d’arts plastiques guadeloupéen. Elle est aussi médecin anesthésiste réanimateur.
La peinture d’Aya N’da relève d’une démarche abstraite à priori, et ethno-centrée: le textile africain (traditionnel ou moderne) est au coeur de sa démarche esthétique. Elle affirme son identité africaine en le convoquant dans ses abstractions ou en évoquant symboles et graphismes sub-sahariens chers à son coeur d’Ivoirienne. Et dans cette ambiance picturale, elle se positionne sur les questions socio-philosophiques qui l’interpellent, confirmant ainsi sa position d’artiste engagé.

Aya N’da is a 46-year-old, Franco-Ivorian painter, self-taught, based in Guadeloupe (French West Indies) for 12 years.
She attended frequently during 5 years the workshop studio of a Guadeloupian painter and professor of plastic arts.
She is also a medical doctor anaesthesiologist-reanimator.
The painting of Aya N‘da is abstract but revolves around African textile.
Her approach consists in continually reviewing traditional and contemporary African fabrics thus expressing her ethnicity. She summons them in her abstractions through shades, speckle graphics and sub-Saharan symbols which are dear to her heart of an Ivorian.
Moreover, she clearly and increasingly positions herself in her pictorial work, on the socio-philosophical subjects which call her out, gradually asserting her the status of committed artist.
