From the folding of newspaper, in memory of his father, a printer, and from the tying of cotton thread, the grigri is born, reproduced and bound to compose his works. He addresses the essential question of the re-foundation of Africa and the advent of a new and improved society.

As in the alchemical process, black, white (blue), red, the space of his paintings evolves towards a quest for perfection; these parcels of color are the reflection of difficulties and obstacles, such as the current pandemic, they sometimes dominate, darkening the whole work, or remain discreet as the red squares and invite us to vigilance. Figurative forms sometimes appear such as “Flight” when Ange Dakouo gratifies us and lifts us towards his positive vision of the possible creation of a better world.

Born in 1990, graduated from the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers Multimédia de Bamako (Mali) in 2017. Ange lives and works in Bamako; he is one of the founders of the Tim’Art collective with whom he exhibits regularly.
