About:
Robert Hodge is an accomplished interdisciplinary artist from Houston, Texas, growing up in the historic Third Ward district. Hodge utilizes a wide range of found and reclaimed materials to create intense, heavily textured and engaging works. Graduating from the High School of the Performing and Visual Arts, Hodge continued to study visual art at the Pratt Institute in New York and the Atlanta College of Art before returning to Houston to pursue his career.

Hodge has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally in countries ranging from Kenya to Switzerland. His recent projects include executive producing the album “Two & 1/2 Years: A Visual Celebration to the Spirit of Juneteenth,” fulfilling a residency at Artpace in San Antonio and curating the show Collect it for the Culture previously at Houston’s The Union. In 2018, Hodge participated in two solo exhibitions in Houston as well as two group shows in New Orleans and Houston.

Hodge’s work is synonymous with resilience and inspired by both past events and every day life. By reclaiming and fusing materials that have been previously discarded by society, he explores a diverse array of themes including identity, history, and the unrealized future.
